DSS Player not detecting dictaphone

Problem

The Olympus DSS Player software will not detect the Olympus dictaphone when it has been plugged in.

Solution

1. Click Start (Windows XP users should then click Run).
2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
3. Click the Services tab.
4. Make sure the DNS1 service is checked.
5. Click the Startup tab.
6. If the DNS1 Service is there, make sure that is also checked.
7. Click OK.
8. It may ask if you want to restart your computer. You can click No, but won’t be able to use the dictaphone until you restart.
