No text appears in iWorks (Pages, Keynote, Numbers)

Problem

You can’t see any text in iWorks applications such as Pages, Numbers or Keynote.

Solution

1. Click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen.
2. Click Software Update.
3. Once it has finished checking for updates, click Show Details.
4. In the list, there should be an update for your application.
   Make sure it is checked and click Install.
