Problem
You keep seeing the following error message appear:
“Windows cannot find ‘C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.”
Solution
- Open a Command Prompt as Admin.
- Type the following into the window and press Enter:
sfc /scannow
Wait for the process to complete and the file should be restored.
Scan completed and made no difference. Still getting C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe
Thanks anyway.
What version of Windows are you using and is it 64-bit?
Try and obtain the taskmgr.exe file from another comptuer running the same version of Windows and copy it to your computer in the same directory. It can be found in the location mentioned in the error message.
