Problem
When you turn on, restart or login to your Mac (running Mac OS X Lion), applications which you previously had open are loading up as soon as you login.
Cause
By default in Lion, when you Log Out, Shut Down or Restart it will resume your applications from where they left off. When you go to do any of these actions, there is a checkbox that can be unchecked to disable this function but it only applies for one time and is always checked by default.
Solution
You can run a patch which nullifies the effect of the checkbox. Whether it is checked or unchecked, it will always disable the login resume function after running the file.
To apply the patch:
- Download and run our Disable Login Resume patch.
- When prompted, click the Apply button.
- You will then be prompted for your password. Enter it if you have one and press Enter.
- A message should appear to confirm the patch was applied. Click OK.
To remove the patch (in case you change your mind):
- Run the Disable Login Resume file.
- When prompted, click the Remove button.
- You will then be prompted for your password. Enter it if you have one and press Enter.
- A message should appear to confirm the patch was removed. Click OK.
Thanks a lot. But it seems to me that what we need is a fix that leaves the tick box unchecked when I uncheck. And also leaves it checked if I choose to do so.
I agree and would have preferred that course of action but so far I (nor anyone else that I’m aware of) has been able to do this.
