Problem
When single clicking a folder or file it opens or runs, instead of selecting or highlighting.
Cause
The folder options are set to open on single click.
Solution
Windows XP
- Click “Start”.
- Click “My Computer”.
- Click “Tools” (at the top) and Click “Folder Options”.
- Under “Click items as follows”, check the “Double-click to open an item (single click to select)” Radio button.
- Click “Apply”.
- Click “OK”.
Windows Vista
- Click the Start orb.
- In the start search text box type “Folder Options”.
- Press “Enter/Return”.
- Click the “General” Tab.
- Under “Click items as follows” check the “Double-click to open an item (single click to select)” Radio button.
- Click “Apply”.
- Click “OK”.
Windows 7
- Click the Start orb.
- In the start search text box type “Folder Options”.
- Press “Enter/Return”.
- Click the “General” Tab.
- Under “Click items as follows” check the “Double-click to open an item (single click to select)” Radio button.
- Click “Apply”.
- Click “OK”.
