After disconnecting a secondary monitor you can’t see some programs

Problem

When disconnecting your secondary monitor you may find that the windows you had on that screen haven’t returned to your main screen and are now not visible.

Solution

You can right click on the taskbar and click Cascade Windows. This will bring all the windows back on the screen.

You can also move an individual program back on to your screen:

  1. Right click on the program name from the taskbar and click Move.
  2. Using the arrow keys, hold down the appropriate direction.
(For example, if the window you are looking for was previously to the left of your screen, hold down the right arrow and the program will move it’s way over.)
