- Close all open Office programs.
- Click the start menu (then click Run if using Windows XP) and type regedit.
- Click Continue or Yes, if prompted.
- Navigate to the appropriate key:
- Office 2007 on 32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
- Office 2003 on 32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration
- Office 2007 on 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
- Office 2003 on 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration
- Then click on the only folder in there.
- Then right click on DigitalProductID and click Delete.
- Then right click on ProductID and click Delete.
- Now opening an Office program will prompt you to enter a new product code.
