Force Quit a program that is not responding on Mac

To force quit an application:

  1. Click the Apple in the top left of the screen and then click. Force Quit.
  2. Select the program that is not responding.
  3. Click the Force Quit button.

You can also bring up this window by pressing cmd + alt + Esc.

  1. Does anyone know how to force quit the Add printer application? It doesn’t show up in the force quit dialog. It doesn’t have a dock icon. it can’t be cmd-tab’d to either. each time I try to click in it, I get the spinning beach ball. The rest of the machine is ok. I don’t really want to reboot my machine just for this one app.
