Canon Printer fails to print when first installed

Problem

Canon Printer fails to print when first installed.

Cause

The drivers on the CD in the box with the Canon printer are out of date and may no longer work with new versions of Windows 7 or Vista and certain service packs.

Solution

  1. Uninstall the old drivers and disconnect the printer.
  2. Go to http://www.canon.co.uk/Products_Solutions/
  3. Find and click the type of printer you have (i.e. a inkjet or multifunction) then find and click on the model number of your printer.
  4. Then on the overview page click on the downloads tab on the page next to the FAQ’s tab then choice you operating system and download the latest drivers.
  5. Reinstall the printer with these drivers and plug the printer back in when the software tell you. Now your printer should work.
