ClaroCapture won’t capture text on a Toshiba Laptop

Problem

When using ClaroCapture, clicking the Capture button just plays a sound and doesn’t copy any text.

Cause

This is caused by the Toshiba Webcam Software stealing focus when ClaroCapture tries to Alt+Tab to the previous window.

Solution

To determine if the Toshiba Webcam Software is present on the computer:

1. Bring up the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
2. Click the Processes tab.
3. If “TWebCamera.exe” is in the list, then the software is installed.

To stop the software from running:

1. Click the Start button.
2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
3. Click Continue, if prompted.
4. Click the Startup tab.
5. Uncheck the “TWebCamera” option.
6. Click OK.
7. If a message appears, check the “Don’t show this message again.” option and click Restart to reflect the changes.
