Computer wakes up straight away when putting it to Sleep or Hibernate

Problem

When you put your computer to sleep or hibernate, it wakes up straight away.

Cause

This can often be caused by the mouse waking up the computer, even when it is not moving or clicking.

Solution

1. Open the Device Manager.
2. Double click on the mouse under Mice and other pointing devices.
3. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck “Allow this device to wake the computer” and click OK.
