Boot Camp Assistant cannot be used. You must update your system software before using this setup assistant.

Problem

When you run Boot Camp Assistant you get the following error:

“Boot Camp Assistant cannot be used. You must update your system software before using this setup assistant.”

Solution

Try the following:

1. Enable Journalling for your drive.
2. Run Software Update.
