The activation server failed generating the requested license

Problem

When trying to activate Mindjet MindManager you get the following error:

“The activation server failed generating the requested license”

Cause
Something is stopping the computer from connecting to the MindManager server. It could possibly be third party software or network settings.

Solution

Try disabling your antivirus and then activating the software again. You can also try disabling the firewall on your router if you so wish to. Mindjet have an article on their knowledge base which describes an alternative way to activate the program via email.
