Unable to Verify Disk in Disk Utility

Problem

When in Disk Utility, the option to ‘Verify Disk’ option is greyed out.

Solution

At the top of the Disk Utility window click the ‘Enable Journaling’ button. The ‘Verify Disk’ button should now appear.
