Problem
In Abbyy FineReader, when you scan you get the following error:
“Fatal Scanner error”
Solution
- Click Tools -> Options.
- Click the Scan/Open tab.
- Under the Scanner heading, select the “Use native interface” option.
- Click OK.

I instaled abbyy finereader 11 professional in my pc (I have a legal license). When I try to save a PDF document with multiple pages the program crash: ” This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual wa.. ” ( like error from this post https://fixkb.com/2011/01/adobe-reader-runtime-error.html). I Set the AppData variable to the correct value like up post, but error remain. What I can to do? Please help! Thank,s! Sorry for may bad english. My OS is windows 7 ultimate X86.
Try reinstalling if you can and let me know the outcome.
I installed and uninstalled the abbyy finereader 11, but the error remain….. I used 2 version v11.0.102.583 and v.11.0.102.589…… I installed a fresh copy my OS Win 7 Ult X86 (with legal license), same error. I can to save a document in pdf format. With version 10 of software all is fine. With 11 ERROR. I sent a message to abbyy support, but they don t reply me.I don t know what is the issue!
When you changed the App data value, did you actually have to make any changes?
You should also try contacting Abbyy by emailing them: support@abbyy.com
Retor, You will need to update the Visual C++ Runtime on your machine.
