Problem
In Windows XP, when you attempt to burn a CD using the “Write these files to CD” option it gives you the following error despite trying with several blank discs.
“There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a writable CD.”
Solution
- Click the Start button.
- Click on My Computer.
- Right click on your CD/DVD drive and click Properties.
- Select the Recording tab.
- Check the “Enable CD recording on this drive” checkbox if it is unchecked.
- Change the write speed drop down from “Fastest” to a different speed.
- Click OK.
If the drive is already enabled for recording, yet still wont:
Click the Start button.
Click on My Computer.
Right click on your CD/DVD drive and click Properties.
Select the Recording tab.
UNCHECK the “Enable CD recording on this drive” checkbox if it is checked.
Click Apply.
recheck “Enable CD recording on this drive”.
Click Apply again.
This took care of the problem for me.
Thanks this worked a treat

Are you running Windows XP?
