No Reminders from Software Update

Problem

The Software Update application on your Mac no longer appears automatically like it may have done before.

Solution

1. Click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen.
2. Click System Preferences.
3. On the fourth row, click Software Update.
4. Make sure the “Scheduled Check” tab is selected.
5. Make sure the last two checkboxes “Check for updates:” and “Download updates automatically” are checked.
6. Next to “Check for updates:” select how frequently you want it to do so in the drop down box.
