Remove Babylon Toolbar

Problem

The Babylon Toolbar is installed on your computer and may have happened without you knowing. Your searches may also be redirected using the Babylon Search Engine.

Solution

Applies to users running Internet Explorer 8+ and/or Firefox.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R, then type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
  2. In the list of installed programs, uninstall any unwanted entries containing the word “Babylon”.
  3. Press the Windows Key + R, then type %appdata% and press Enter.
  4. Delete the “BabylonToolbar” folder if it exists.
  5. Reset Internet Explorer.
  6. Open Internet Explorer.
  7. One key at a time, press Alt, then T and press A to open the “Manage Add-ons” option.
  8. On the left, click Search Providers.
  9. Right click on your preferred search engine and click “Set as Default”.
  10. Click Close.
  11. Close Internet Explorer.
  12. If you do not have Firefox installed then you can stop follow instructions from here.
  13. Open Firefox.
  14. Press Ctrl + Shift + A to open the Add-ons Manager.
  15. Click Extensions.
  16. Find any entries named Babylon Toolbar and click the Remove button.
  17. Close Firefox.
