Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded

Problem

When trying to access certain content on websites, it flags this error:
“Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded”

Cause

The Security settings are set to high and restrict you from accessing  a lot of content online.

Solution

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Open Internet Options.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Near the bottom, click the “Reset all zones to default level” button.
  6. Click OK.

  3. It does not work for me, everything I do to install or download under my “administration” continues to say I can’t download due to security settings, but on an account not the administrator its all fine and dandy. ugh

  4. This still does not work. it is only under my “administrator account that this does this” Extremely frustrating. I can’t even download the Norton I need to protect my computer.

  5. This solution has not worked for me. I cannot download or open anything. Email attachments, files in my down loads. Any downloads from the internet just give me the same error

  6. hello there , this did not work in my ASUS x54c notebook window 7,because
    it has a malware SCRYTOBOT RSA.2048 + had 60 virus more.
