“You have reached the max Index marks allowed.” on Olympus Dictaphone

Problem

When indexing on the Dictaphone you get a message come up: “You have reached the max Index marks allowed.”

Cause

This is because with the DM650 model and below, you can only add up to 16 index marks per file. The DM670 and above are able to have 99 index marks per file (and possibly increasing with newer models).

There is also no limit to how close you can have your index marks per file either. However if you have used up the memory on the Dictaphone itself then you will get the above error, or “You have reached the max files allowed.”
