Dragon keeps asking to set up your microphone

Problem

Each time you open Dragon Naturally Speaking you get the following message:

“The audio device listed below is required by the speech files for [User Name],
[Audio Device Name].

Make sure this audio device is properly installed and configured. you may change the sound sys required by these speech files by choosing “Prepare User for Dication…” from the Naturally speaking menu.”

Solution

To stop this from happening again, the Microphone should always be plugged in the same USB port. Also make sure to connect it before running Dragon.
