Mac running slow with Intego VirusBarrier X5 installed

Problem

Your Mac, running (OSX 10.5 Leopard) is running slow when you have Intego VirusBarrier X5 installed.

Solution

It is recommended that you upgrade to VirusBarrier X6 or use a different antivirus as there seems to be a fault in X5 that takes up a lot of the RAM.

To see if you are affected do the following steps:

1. Press cmd + Space to bring up the Spotlight search.
2. Type Activity Monitor and press Enter.
3. If you see a large number of processes called “virusbarrier” then you are affected by the problem and should take the advice above.
