Problem
When a device is connected and iTunes is running, the following message is displayed: “This [device name] cannot be used, because the Apple Mobile Device Service is not started.”
Cause
The Apple Mobile Device service is not starting with Windows automatically.
Solution
- Click start
- Type “services.msc” (without quotes) and press Enter.
- Look for Apple Mobile Device.
- Right click on the entry then click Properties.
- Next click Start up type and select Automatic.
- Then click Start, click Apply and then OK.
