Volumes folder appears on the hard drive

Problem

On your hard drive you see a folder called ‘Volumes’. If you delete the folder it will just come back when you restart.

Solution

The Volumes folder is meant to be there, just not visible.

1. See our post on how to Hide files and folders in Mac OS X from Finder.
2. Drag the Volumes folder into the program and click Hide.
