Blank Calendar Gadget in Sidebar

The calendar gadget in your sidebar is blank. There are no months or numbers displayed, only an orange square.

This can be due to a problem with a VB Script DLL or with an outdated version of Internet Explorer 9.

  1. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type the following and press Enter:
    regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll
  3. Click OK to the message that appears.
  4. Restart the computer.

If that does not fix the problem and you have Internet Explorer 9 installed, then Uninstall IE9 and reinstall it again.

  1. Had the same problem about a month ago. Tried several things. Problem was solved after I disabled all the gadgets and then restored them from the Windows Feature page.
    Problem reappeared this morning.
Again disabled and restored the gadgets. No chng.
Ran the vbscript. rebooted, no chng.
Deleted the calendar gadget, rebooted, no chng.
I do not have IE on my PC (ripped it out months ago).
Per instructions, deleted the registry info for IE Zones. booted, no chng.
