Problem
When trying to run Action Express you get the error: “Program was unable to find some components of the software”.
Cause
The registry Key “iMpacct Corp” has incorrectly set permissions.
Solution
- Press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run window.
- Type in regedit and click OK or press Enter.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE and locate ” iMpacct Corp”
- Right-click on “iMpacct Corp”, and select Permissions. “Permissions for iMpacct Corp” windows should appear with a single “Security” tab.
- Below the “Group or user names” section, click the “Add…” button. This should display the “Select Users or Groups” window.
- In the “Enter the object names to select (examples)”, enter the name “Everyone” and click the OK button to confirm and return to the previous window.
- You should now see “Everyone” in the “Group or user names” window. Click on “Everyone” to highlight it.
- Below “Permissions for Everyone”, click the Advanced button. The “Advanced Security Settings for iMpacct Corp”, window should appear with the Permissions tab selected.
- Once “Permissions entries” is showing “Allow Everyone Read Only…”, ensure it is highlighted, and click on the “Edit…” button and you should see a window named “Permission Entry for iMpacct Corp”.
- In the “Permission” section, on the first row click the checkbox for “Full Control” in the Allow column. All the check boxes should be checked. Click OK to return to the previous window.
- In the “Advanced Security Settings for iMpacct Corp”, click OK to return to the “Permissions for iMpacct Corp” window, and click OK to confirm and close the last pop-up window.
- Go to the Registry Editor’s File menu and select Exit. Restart your computer.
