A lot of users may not wish to perform this tweak as they prefer the default Windows theme.
- Click the Start button.
- Right click on Computer (or My Computer) and click Properties.
- Windows XP users can ignore this step:
On the left, click Advanced System settings. - Make sure the Advanced tab is selected.
- Underneath the Performance tab, click “Settings…”
- Click the “Adjust for best performance” radio button.
- Click OK and click OK again.
To revert back to the default setting, choose the option “Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer”.
