Remove the OneNote quick launch icon from startup

Problem

When you start your computer, the OneNote quick launch icon appears in the system notifications tray on the taskbar.

Solution

1. If you can see the icon, right click it and select “Close” or “Remove OneNote Icon”.
2. Open OneNote.
3. In the top left, click File or the Office button depending on what version you have.
4. Click Options.
5. On the left, click Display.
6. Uncheck the option: “Place OneNote icon in the notification area of the taskbar”.
7. Click OK and close OneNote.
