Mac not recognising the Microtek XT3300 scanner

Problem

When plugging in the Microtek XT3300 scanner, it is not recognised by the Mac.

Solution

Download Scan Potter application for Snow Leopard or Lion:

1. Install the Application
2. Restart your machine.
3. Open up Applications folder and find Scan Potter.
4. Use Scan Potter to preform scans as normal.

With these drivers for Mac and this scanner, there isn’t currently a way to turn off the inbuilt voice other than muting your machine. The developers are looking into adding this function with the next driver release. This post will be updated when they have done this.
