Disable On-Screen Keyboard from starting up in Windows 8

Problem

When you turn on your computer, the On-Screen Keyboard loads up every time.

Cause

This setting may be enabled in the Ease of Access Center, especially if you are using a tablet or device without a mouse or keyboard.

Solution

  1. Press the Windows key.
  2. Type “Ease of Access Center” and press Enter.
  3. Click “Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard”.
  4. Uncheck “Use On-Screen Keyboard”.
  5. Click OK and close the window.
