Sonority hangs on “Starting application”

Problem

When you run Sonority on your Mac, the splash screen appears but hangs on the message “Starting application” with the progress bar filled up.

Solution

1. If the splash screen is still showing then click on it and press cmd + Q to quit Sonority.
2. Eject the voice recorder from the computer.
3. Run Sonority. It should load up fine this time.
4. Download an update if the program indicates that one is available.
5. Once done, quit Sonority and the problem should not persist.
