ClaroRead Plus on Mac does nothing when asked to Scan

Problem

When scanning in ClaroRead (with ReadIris), nothing seems to happen.

Solution

After clicking the scan button, check to see if the ReadIris icon is open in the dock.
Click on the ReadIris icon to bring up the window/open it and it may ask you for a serial number.
If it does, put in your serial and it should work afterwards.
